Well UPS just arrived and I have a much awaited review on the spider witch costume.

It looks wonderful on Jess... my lil Gothic princess... I will have pics available soon but I want to wait to debut those in a bit.

Ok as for a review.

The main outfit:

When I openned it up I wasn't SUPER impressed as it looks like one of those walmart costumes for kids. I do not think you even pay 18 bucks (got it on sale) for a child's size walmart outfit.. but what ever... my main concern was really the tights (sad, but I have plans for those)

Well I noticed that the sleeves completly enclose the hands, and I do not seem to remember that from the internet pic, but oh well, well try it. So as I go to put the outfit on Jess I find myself a bit confused as the mittins are pointing the wrong way. So I say to myself maybe the velcro is the front... so I try it that way and I find that the velcro is HIGHLY attracted to the bodysuit type material. And yes it even pulls it like it would tights. I was upset about that...

Well I figure out it goes the other way so I swoop the dress around... and my gosh it is just STUNNING on Jess. Jess makes up for the walmart look because she's just made for costumes like this.

Ok the tights are worth the whole price as I really was wishing and hoping they were fishnets. AND THEY ARE!! Whoot... too cute... and they are tasteful fishnets... not to broad holes. The patent leather shoes are just basic patent leather that AG seems to be using. The necklace is a nice touch... and I have a few ideas for that as well.

Ok the spider leg part is sepearte and I absolutly HATE this. It takes away from the costume... and I really doubt that it will come to much use in my house.

Over all I am pleased with my purchase. Though this will not be an outfit worn in it's entiraty. I'm going to use it as I see fit.

If you are buying it for the spider witch costume... I'd pass... but if you are looking for something a little darker or gothier this is perfect and worth the price. Hope this helps. Pic soon to follow!

Thanks for the review. I am excited to hear that the tights are fishnets. A while back I called to see about ordering them as a replacement part for Marisols tap dance outfit and they were way too expensive (in the teens + shipping if memory serves me right. It might be worth it to order this outfit for the tights and have the rest as a bonus. It comes out cheaper than ordering Marisols replacement tights and a pair of shoes. Anyways thanks again and I love the sneak peak. Jess looks fabulous!!

Thanks soo much!! I think Jess was born to play this part. My daughter has gotten excited as Snow White is her favorite (has been her favorite since she was 6 months... she has a plush doll she calls baby that is snow white) well she had to get in on all the excitement.. Enjoy my new avie as well!!

Just for reference, the Spider Witch tights are the exact same tights as the ones in Marisol's tap outfit. I ordered a pair as a replacement part because I thought they might be the same, or at least similar enough to work with the tap outfit, and when they arrived, I was able to confirm that they are indeed the same. They most likely do not have anymore as replacement parts however, because they were down to only a handful when I ordered mine a few weeks ago.

As for my avatar I see it as blury and I'm not sure why its coming out that way. I've never had a problem with resizing a picture before and I'm using the same program... grr!
